Extension of the Expiry Date of Immun'Âge®

2025/06/04

Osato International Inc. is pleased to announce that the shelf life of our product Immun'Âge® has been officially extended from 24 months to 30 months.
As part of the Japanese government's efforts - led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and the Consumer Affairs Agency - to reduce food loss and waste, food manufacturers have been encouraged to review and appropriately extend the shelf life of their products. In line with this initiative, new guidelines have been issued to discourage unnecessarily short shelf life settings.

In response, we have conducted a thorough review of the safety margins and quality retention of Immun'Âge®. Based on our re-evaluation, we have confirmed that the product maintains its quality beyond the previous 24-month period. Accordingly, we are pleased to implement this extended expiry date. We remain committed to contributing to social response efforts and reducing environmental impact through sustainable practices.

Details of the Shelf Life Extention
Product: Immun'Âge® (Lot No. 160 and later)
New Expiry Date: Extended from 24 months (2 years) to 30 months (2.5 years)

Status of Food Loss and Waste in Japan
According to the MAFF, Japan's food loss and waste amounted to approx. 4.72 million tons in fiscal year 2022, resulting in an estimated economic loss of approx. 4 trillion yen. In addition, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from food production reached approx. 10.46 million tons per year.
Reducing food waste is important not only for lowering energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions associated with waste disposal, but also for the effective use of limited resources and for making a meaningful contribution to reducing environmental impact.
